DeSalvo Named to CUNA Consumer Protection Subcommittee
WINSTON-SALEM, NC (Feb. 15, 2017) – Karen DeSalvo, chief marketing officer of Truliant Federal Credit Union, has been named to the Credit Union National Association’s (CUNA) Consumer Protection Subcommittee.
The subcommittee, part of CUNA – which represents America’s state and federally chartered credit unions – monitors developments and addresses concerns related to consumer financial protection laws and regulations. It makes recommendations to CUNA’s Advocacy Committee.
DeSalvo has been named to a one-year appointment.

DeSalvo, who has served as Truliant’s Chief Marketing Officer since 2010, has more than 25 years of marketing, advertising and leadership experience. In her role, she leads marketing strategy across all of the credit union’s services and products including membership, education, community outreach, research and data analytics, with a focus on improving members’ lives by helping them build strong financial futures.
She received a Bachelor of Science and Business Administration in Advertising and Public Relations from Youngstown State University in Ohio. DeSalvo is also one of fewer than 250 individuals nationally to hold the Certified Financial Marketing Professional certification.
